Nokia smartphones have come back to market last year with Android operating system. The company that owns the smartphone market license, HMD Global, has released several attractive models. These include Nokia 8, Nokia 6 or Nokia 7.
How does the brand handle the global market? Good enough. HMD Global has sold 4.4 million smartphones in the last quarter (T4) since 2017.
According to Counterpoint, the brand has overtaken brands like Sony, OnePlus, Google (Pixel) or HTC during the period. Thus, in Q4 2017, Nokia ranked 11th among the world's largest smartphone manufacturers, with a market share of 1%
Other brands overtaken by Nokia in the past three months of 2017 were: Lenovo, ASUS, Alcatel and Meizu
If all phone models sold (including dumbphones) are taken into account, Nokia was ranked 6th overall worldwide with 20.7 million units shipped (5% market share between October and December last year) ).
