Google is good at developing smartphones but does not know how to sell them. The company delivered only 3.9 million Pixel phones last year, according to IDC market research firm. The figure includes the Pixel and Pixel 2 series.
It is unclear how many of these phones have reached the end consumers and how many are still in the stocks of their partners.
By comparison, only 4.4 million Nokia smartphones were delivered in the last quarter of 2017. With this performance, Google is ranked "others" in the world ranking of manufacturers. The biggest players in the market are Samsung, Apple and Huawei.
