TP-LINK has launched two new home routers, a portable router and a new range extender, all geared to extended Wi-Fi coverage, equipped with newer technologies than previous models. They use newer technologies, such as faster processors, MU-MIMO technology and Wi-Fi speeds of a few gigabytes, providing quick connections for as many users as possible
The new top model in the consumer segment seems to be the MU-MIMO AC3150 V2 Archer Gigabit. It is equipped with a Broadcom dual-cr 1.4 GHz processor and is equipped with Broadcom NitroQAM technology, which allows four streams with data stream 25% higher than in the past. The router integrates four dual-band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) antennas that use Beamforming to provide a stable signal by focusing it directly on connected devices
The router also has USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports for network storage and enables 2Gbps connections using two RJ-45 ports. Thus, NAS devices can enjoy increased speeds, faster streaming, and more efficient backups through the local network. Wi-Fi antennas can provide a combined 3150 Mbps, and Tether can provide quick access to device settings for mobile configuration without accessing the web interface. Smart Connect and Airtime Fairness ensure device access to the most freely available channels, while preventing older devices from limiting the band.
The Archer C50, however, offers basic performance. It benefits from 1.2 Gbps combined Wi-Fi, 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps at 5 GHz. And this model integrates four antennas with amplifiers that increase the transmit power to provide coverage throughout the house. TP-LINK also has the ability to connect via TETHER on mobile devices with iOS and Android
However, the M7200 is a portable router that can share 3G or 4G connections on up to 10 devices at a time. It is powered by a 2,000 mAh battery that provides 8 hours of autonomy. The internal modem is compatible with 4G FDD / TDD-LTE networks, which are used in most countries around the world, and the M7200 is a solution especially for those traveling. For this model, TP-LINK provides the tpMiFi configuration application.
Finally, the company launches a new range extender, the RE270K. It is part of the Smart Home range and offers dual functionality. On the one hand, it takes over the router's Wi-Fi signal and passes it on to expand the cover, and on the other hand is a smart socket that allows remote control through the Kasa application. Practically, inserting the RE270K into a normal socket does not occupy that permanent location, with another socket on the outside where other devices can be connected
The RE270K operates on both the 2.4 GHz band, offering a speed of 300 Mbps and 5 GHz at 433 Mbps. Those who use intelligent Amazon Alexa voice control devices can also control this range extender to control devices connected to the smart socket. For those who do not have a router, this model can take over this feature and is equipped with an Ethernet port
These four products can be found soon in the specialized stores in Romania
