Courtland Gundling, the owner of a building from which several outdoor air-conditioning units have been stolen, turned to technology to catch the thief. The man installed a GPS tracker inside a new unit. Two weeks later, the device informed him that the device "is in motion."
Together with a friend, the man went into pursuit of the thief. The tracer transmitted the new geographic coordinates every 60 seconds. Meanwhile, Gundling also alerted the police. The suspect was caught in a McDonald's restaurant. He had the external unit in his car
David Lester Walls, aged 50, pleaded innocent despite evidence. The man will be tried on May 15.
