Amazon giant is accused of exploiting employees at the Alexa and Kindle

An NGO urges Amazon to improve conditions for Echo and Kindle workers in China, renewing the idea that CEO Jeff Bezos would have become the richest man in the world on the back of low-wage employees, according to Mediafax

The China Labor Watch, a non-governmental organization in New York, released a report this weekend after a nine-month hongyong factory labor test, held by Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., a company known as Foxconn, which produces for Amazon.

The report provided images from the company about how Amazon produces voice-activated Echo speakers (Alexa) at a production price of $ 40.

The report, which presents a picture of low wages and intense working conditions, includes the following findings: employees are required to work over 100 overtime monthly, despite the fact that Chinese labor law allows up to 36 overtime a month; workers have not been adequately trained for labor protection; employees must come to the start of the tour 10 minutes before and are not rewarded for doing so; staff accommodation does not have adequate fire safety measures such as fire extinguishers

Amazon completed a factory audit in March and found violations of overtime and the use of couriers that Foxconn asked them to fix, Amazon told Bloomberg. </p>
