Apple brings Amazon and Google managers into its software team

In a New Bloomberg's report states that Apple has hired Jon McCormack as Vice President of Software Role, and was previously Chief Technical Officer (CTO) - a senior engineer at Google in the Advanced Technology and Products Group. McCormack's LinkedIn profile also reflects Apple's new VP role.

Apple has plenty of software-related responsibilities. On the one hand, it's about increasing the reliability and performance of iOS and implementing a cross-platform solution for MacOS and iOS. But Apple's own applications have been treated rather neglected lately. Although there are minor updates to the image and video editing applications and the Office suite, they have not yet included a major new litter.

Tim Cook told his staff this week that the company has closed down Google's former head of search and artificial intelligence, John Giannandrea. It is likely that Apple wants to significantly improve the HomePod in order to compete with Amazon's Alexa and the Google Assistant.
