Apple gives credit for battery replacement on iPhone 6 or later

End Last year it was announced that Apple is throttling old iPhone models to ensure a consistent battery life and a stable system. Apple announced in the sequence of different approaches. On the one hand, iOS 11.3 provided a battery feature that removes the choke while, on the other hand, lowered battery replacement costs. Thus, the cost of the “repair out of warranty” from 89 euros to 29 euros. However, some users had already completed such a repair before December 29, 2017 at full price.

Now, Apple is also showing appealing to customers who charge the battery of an iPhone 6 or later between January 1, 2017 and December 28, 2017, out of warranty at an Apple Store, Apple repair center, or Apple Authorized Service Provider have had repaired. This customer group will now be reimbursed the difference of 60 euros. This is evidenced by a new special page.

According to Apple, all eligible customers will be notified by e-mail between May 23 and July 27, 2018, and will receive instructions to do so. The persons concerned then receive the credit note as a transfer or as a credit note to the credit card used for the repair.
