After Apple's map app replaced Google Maps in 2012 as the default navigation app on the iPhone and iPad, much did not always go around initially. Over the years, the company improved the map material as well as the individual functions. In 2015, for example, directions for the public transport network were integrated in many cities. These included Berlin, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, London, Mexico City, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Sydney, Toronto and hundreds of other cities in China. In the following year, the city list was supplemented again. Descriptions can be found in Columbia, Charleston, and Greenville since today.
In the same breath, it also brought an important improvement for motorists. So Apple integrated in the map app in iOS 11 a lane assistant for the US and China. Only a short time later, additional countries were added to Austria, South Africa and Switzerland. Now Apple has once again added a massive number to the list, so lane assistance is also available in Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, Canada, France, the Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom. This will help improve navigation in 14 countries and more will follow in the coming months.
