ARM reveals Cortex-A76, a 35% faster processor than the one contained in the Snapdragon 845 chipset

Used in a slightly modified form including the Snapdragon 845 chipset, the Cortex-A75 core has a successor of up to 40% more efficient in terms of power consumption and 35% faster

Reserved for the next generation high-end smartphone, the Cortex-A76 is designed to use the 7nm manufacturing process developed by TSMC and could reach frequencies up to 3GHz. Probably the highest speeds will be achieved with laptop systems with better cooling capabilities and battery capacity, with the ARM developer promising for this scenario a double performance level compared to the currently used Snapdragon 835 / Cortex-A73

Simultaneously, the new GPU Mali-G76 was announced, up to 50% faster than the currently available ARM solutions. It will provide native video capture at 8K / 30 fps and 4K / 60 fps using a 10 bit HDR encoding H.264

Replacing the current Mali-V61 design, the new GPU will be scalable in configurations ranging from 2 to 8 processing units with a frequency of 600MHz

Available for individual licensing, the Cortex-A76 and Mali-G76 kernels could appear in numerous chipsets delivered by Mediatek, Qualcomm, and other manufacturers who lack the resources to develop their own CPU and GPU architectures
