The iPhone X was launched in November and features two 12-megapixel front-facing cameras. One is equipped with a wide-angle lens (f / 1.8) and one with a telephoto lens with f / 2.4. Both have optical image stabilization. So far, only one of the two cameras has been equipped with image stabilization – this is also the case with the iPhone 8 Plus.
Apple has also worked a lot on the software to improve the iPhone X camera. These include features such as Portrait Lighting.
Incidentally, Consumer Reports is not alone in that assessment. The DxO website specialized in photography gave the camera of the iPhone X a score of 97. The value is higher than any other iPhone. DPReview says the camera is capable of “extremely impressive” results.
