CPU benchmarks see Apple’s chips two years ahead of the competition

Benchmarks are natural to some degree just a gimmick. But they show what is in a chip when used in comparable conditions. This is only partially the case with Apple’s iPhone and iPad, as well as Android smartphones and tablets. Because the Android devices always use more memory and other BUS connections.

Apple’s chips two years ahead?

This is mainly due to Apple’s penchant for individualization. The Cupertino company does a lot of its own, so it can optimize certain bottlenecks. Last even added its own GPU design. That’s why Apple has been in the lead for a long time with its A-Series processors.

The new ARM Cortex-A76 delivers a level of performance in the Geekbench CPU benchmark similar to Apple’s A10 chip. The problem with the matter? The first devices with the Cortex-A76 will presumably not be released until the end of the year. Then Apple presents but already the A12 and the A10 is then about two years old. That’s why the lead of two years for Apple.

No news

The new Cortex-A76 is quite faster than Samsung’s Exynos 9810, which works in the current Galaxy S9. But already the device of the Koreans achieved despite faster CPU clocking and more RAM only the performance level of the iPhone 7.

The autumn will be exciting when Apple introduces its new A12 chip. It is possible that the company will expand its lead even further. It is particularly interesting how Apple achieves more performance with significantly lower energy consumption. Apple is definitely geared up for the near future, and the competition must catch up in any case.
