The EU executive wants the public and private sector to invest at least $ 24 billion in artificial intelligence by the end of 2020 to stay in the global competition, according to Mediafax

Andrus Ansip, European Commission Vice-President for Single Digital Market, said the EU executive would increase its R & D investment by $ 1.8 billion, hoping to raise $ 3 billion in public and private funding.

Ansip believes the EU needs to recover, citing a study according to which the EU invested $ 4 billion in artificial intelligence in 2016 compared to Asia, which invested $ 12 billion and the US invested $ 23 billion .

Artificial Intelligence is already used in the field of Robotics, Health and Manufacturing.
