HomePod worse than Sonos One? Consumer Reports has tested
The American "Stiftung Warentest" -Pendant Consumer Reports has tested the HomePod for the first time and certifies that the Apple loudspeaker has a "very good" sound quality. Similar results came to the site on the Sonos One and the Google Home Max. However, both devices received higher overall ratings in sound quality. Like the test labs at Apple, Consumer Reports has a special room for any sound testing that compares the HomePod with high-quality reference speakers. However, they found some small flaws.
According to the Vorab report, one could feel the closeness to beats here, which, like the HomePod, often stand out due to a very bass-heavy sound, whereby the mids are partially washed out. The heights, however, are only slightly emphasized. In direct comparison to the Google Home Max and the Sonos One Apple's first smart speaker "a bit mushy" sound. Of course, the tests are still in full swing and will probably be completed in the course of the next few days, but still Consumer Reports does not believe that the HomePod can still beat the two competing products.
