iPhone SE 2: Case maker wants to know new details
By no means all users want the largest possible display and always the latest hardware. Rather, they value a handy design and proven hardware. And so it is not surprising that the iPhone SE for Apple was a not to be underestimated success. Already since March 2016 in the trade, it would now be time for a successor. And the rumors continue to grow, even if Apple is of course silent on the subject.
The Protective sleeve manufacturer Olixar is now 9to5mac some photos of screen protector films and drawings of the iPhone SE 2 leaked. These should come from a source around Chinese manufacturers. It can be seen that the small 5-inch iPhone should receive the borderless display of the iPhone X and its recess at the top of the screen. Actually, this step would be quite unexpected, but the iPhone SE is a cheaper entry-level iPhone, which does not have the latest hardware. A new borderless display costs more to produce than in the usual design. However, the recess is much smaller than on the iPhone X. It may only contain the front camera and the speaker, but no camera system for Face ID. However, it would be unclear how the iPhone SE 2 should be unlocked, finally, there is no room on the front for a Touch ID sensor.
The further design is to resemble Olixar after again the iPhone 5 with its very angular aluminum frame. Whether a glass back is used to allow wireless charging is unknown. When exactly the iPhone SE 2 could be presented, is also not yet known. It could already be ready in June at the developer conference WWDC.
