IT experts recommend to journalists not to use USB fans received at the meeting between Trump and Kim Jong-un
Journalists who participated in the historic encounter between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un received, among other things, a small USB fan. The gadget can be connected to your phone or laptop. Immediately after imaging with the device arrived on the Internet, computer security experts drew the attention of journalists that the fan might contain malicious programs.
It is not known exactly who offered the net containing the fan. This included a bottle of water, a "trial" at the Strait Times and a tourist guide.
It is very possible that the fan is totally harmless. However, some computer security experts believe that journalists should not risk using it because North Korea is renowned for its massive cyber attacks.
Some of the biggest computer attacks have started after viruses have been introduced into networks through external storage devices. An example is Stuxnet.
