Mercedes Benz ‘Infotainment System Will Support CarPlay

 

As late as 2018, Me For the first time, rcedes Benz installed the new MBUX in a vehicle. The infotainment system will initially be used in the new A-Class. According to a press spokesman for the company, the feature will then be released in the coming year for more new models.

However, Mercedes Benz could become the second manufacturer after BMW to support wireless CarPlay. So far, only the Munich company has vehicles with the wireless function on the road. Especially with the 5 Series BMW from 2017 introduced the feature for the first time. Technically, however, Apple was ready in 2015 for this step and admitted the possibility already in 2015 with iOS 9 for the manufacturer. In addition, some retrofit system vendors offer devices with wireless CarPlay.

Everyone else still relies on a cable connection between the iPhone and the vehicle to ensure a stable and fluid experience. In the next few years, however, more manufacturers for wireless systems (integrated Qi charging mats and CarPlay) is likely to decide to offer users the greatest possible comfort.
