3D printing promises to revolutionize many industries. These include the aerospace.
NASA has announced that its new Orion capsule will include 100 3D printed items. According to Stratasys, who is working on the project, these components will be made from completely new materials. Once it's ready, the Orion will be tested on a mission to the Moon without a crew. Scheduled for the end of 2019, it will take three weeks.
3D printers are already used to make commercial aircraft spare parts. Moreover, the US Navy has recently made its first 3D submarine hull.
