New Instagram Feature Mimics Portrait Mode

Already vo One month ago, the Android version of Instagram found an indication of the focus feature. This officially announced the company now with a press release. With "Focus" users can now take portraits within Instagram, which are provided with the known as bokeh depth of field effect. The new option appears between "Boomerang" and "Superzoom" in the Instagram camera.

Similar to Apple's portrait mode, it recognizes a person in the shot who stands out from the background with a blur effect. Especially is the fact that this works not only with the new TrueDepth camera of the iPhone X or the dual cameras other models. Even older devices from the iPhone 6s and iPhone SE support the new feature. The portrait mode of Apple, however, only works on the iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X.

At the same time, the new update also brings the "@Mention" stickers for stories on iOS. These can, as usual, scale, rotate and position as desired on the recordings.

Version 40.0 is now available on the App Store.
