Nubia Red Magic is ZTE's first (and probably the latest) gaming phone

ZTE has been in public attention in recent days because of the restrictions it will have in the near future on the sale of US-based products, but its plans for next releases do not seem to be affected at the moment. The Chinese company has just announced the Nubia Red Magic, its first gaming smartphone, to compete, at least in China, with the Xiaomi Black and Shark last year's Razer Phone Black

Nubia Red Magic is a gaming smartphone but only in name and design, which is quite "normal" to an ordinary smartphone. In addition to its "aggressive" design, decorated with red accents and an RGB LED strip on the back, it seems to be a high-end smartphone without much breeze.

At the hardware level, Red Magic is equipped with a 6 "Full HD + resolution screen with a 60 Hz image refresh rate, compared to the Razer QHD at 120 Hz. The chipset used is last year's Qualcomm, Snapdragon 835 model, while the hardware configurations that will be available will provide either 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, either 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The 3,800 mAh battery, which offers over-average capacity, should provide a high degree of autonomy for a non-gaming smartphone with similar hardware

The photo component does not seem to be very important, with ZTE integrating a single 24 megapixel back and 8 megapixel sensor on the front, probably modest models without top performance claims. What is important is that the phone plays video games as well as pre-installed software called GameBoost, which should redirect resources from background applications to the game being played.

In a $ 400 prize for the 6GB RAM and $ 475 for the top model, ZTE could be quite successful in China with Nubia Red Magic, where the mobile gaming market is extremely high. However, outside of the country, the company will no longer be able to sell such models based on Qualcomm chipsets, and may soon be no longer able to produce new devices with such processors
