The race for the handset with boundless display starts to bring about a series of very exciting devices. After Xiaomi Mi Mix, Essential Phone, iPhone X and its clones and Vivo NEX, OPPO is the next competitor who tries to say something about this subject. The result of the last months of design is Find X, a bang-free smartphone with premium glass construction, facial recognition unlocking and a very interesting mechanical slider system
OPPO Find X is next to Vivo NEX amongst the few smartphones that boast a full screen, top-of-the-line hardware, premium construction and a design that highlights it in the sea of similar outdoor devices. Of course, the phone still has a little frame at the bottom of the display, where the electric circuits are positioned internally, the bending technology being currently available for manufacturers other than Apple
OPPO's new Find X model integrates a top-of-the-line configuration comparable to that of its competitors in a curved glass sandwich body (the screen is very similar to the Samsung models at the edges). We are talking about a 6.4 "Full HD + OLED screen, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 chipset, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage, a 3.730mAh battery and a dual-camera system on the back. The latter has a 16 + 20 megapixel configuration and is hidden when not used by the slider of the phone.
In fact, this is the great attraction of Find X, as it is a component I have not seen before. It rises a few millimeters to the top of the phone and reveals a few elements beside the camera on the back. We are also talking about the 25 megapixel front camera, the 3D Face Detection Sensor (similar to the iPhone X) and a speakerphone. OPPO says this system is activated when needed automatically in just 0.5 seconds
As we are dealing with advanced facial recognition, as in the case of iPhone X, a fingerprint sensor has not been implemented, either on the back or the display. Some disadvantages to competition would be lack of wireless charging and lack of water resistance, but it was expected that the latter would miss a phone with a large component moving and powered by motorcycles
In the software chapter, OPPO Find X benefits from Color OS, the personalized version of Android 8.1 Oreo, which provides a hybrid interface between what Samsung and Apple offer on their company's devices
Unlike other OPPO top models that have remained exclusive to the Chinese market, the company plans to launch Find X in the United States and Europe, including operator offers. Moreover, the price of the handset should be lower than the top models of the manufacturers in these markets, despite the technological innovations
