Originally announced at IFA 2017, the Philips Brilliance 492P8 received a resolution upgrade, now displaying 5,120 x 1,440 pixels (versus 3840 or 1080 pixels) in the previous model, significantly improving image clarity
Surely, one of the largest PC monitors ever so far, the Brilliance 492P8 is also recommended for professionals who need more space for the applications they work with, increased resolution boosting productivity. But for a gaming experience you will need a powerful video card.
The rest of the specs remain unchanged, the new model retaining the 1800R curve, 600 nits brightness and 5,000: 1 contrast ratio. The connection options are DisplayPort, VGA, HDMI and Ethernet. The monitor integrates a USB 3.0 hub and a USB-C port for connecting various peripherals.
Announced for the United States and promised for this autumn, the new Philips monitor might also have a correspondent for the European market, but there are currently no plans to launch this model globally
