How to Update the HomePod
First, make sure your HomePod is turned on , Then open the home app on your iPhone or iPad. In the "Home" tab, tap the location icon in the top left corner. In newer versions you can see a symbol with a house here. Now scroll down the general HomeKit settings until you see the "Software Update" entry and tap it. Activate the option "Updates autom. install ", so you will not have to worry about anything in the future.
After a short time an update will be displayed if available. In addition to the version number, details about the new content are also usually mentioned. Touch the Update button underneath to start the update. Depending on the size of the update, the required storage space can be a few MB, but it can quickly grow to several GB and therefore take a different amount of time to update. During the update process, the HomePod will show you on the display that a software update is in progress.
