Romanians paid more for telecom services in 2017

The total bill for mobile telephony services consumed by users in Romania in 2017 increased by almost 200 million euros to 2.45 billion euros amid doubling of mobile Internet service consumption, according to the annual financial report of the French Orange group , which holds the largest player in the local communications market.

"The number of customers for mobile services has declined, but the market has risen in value due to rising customer appetite for subsidized mobile and smartphone services. Monthly mobile data consumption per connection doubled compared to 2016 ", according to the document. The total number of customers on the mobile market fell in 2017 to 27.4 million, from 27.5 in the previous year
