The box of mercy, now high-tech. The Anglican Church will accept payments through Apple Pay and Google Pay Services
Some churches refuse to adapt to current realities. Others adopt new technologies to keep up with younger generations.
The Anglican Church will accept payments through Apple Pay and Google Pay services in all 16,000 churches it has. They will be equipped with modified SumUp Air devices for such transactions.
The parishioners will be able to donate to the smartphone box or pay for other services. The solution "makes us feel like a part of the 21st century," a reverend said.
The Anglican Church has recently announced a partnership with the government. Its buildings will host telecom equipment to improve internet access in rural areas.
