The Caterpillar S61 is S60's rightful follower, being improved from all points of view, both in terms of internal harvesting and its more special components. CAT S61 comes with a major enhancement of the FLIR thermal imaging camera, a distance measuring function with the built-in laser and a sensor for measuring indoor air quality
First, a smartphone and then a working tool, the S61 comes with standard hardware for the mid-range category. We are talking about a 5.2 "Full HD display, Snapdragon 630 chipset, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage, 16 megapixel camera and a large 4.500 mAh battery. It will run Android Oreo 8 in the factory and will get guaranteed upgrade to Android P, says the company.
Of course, those who buy S61 are interested in its special functions. The FLIR camera on the back can now measure temperatures between -21 and 400 degrees Celsius, while the pictures are now upgraded. The FLIR camera can use the main camera to overlay images for HD captures. The thermal imaging camera can also be used for livestream. Also, a Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) sensor can measure ambient air quality, something useful especially for those working in high risk areas
In terms of strength, the Caterpillar S61 could be one of the most resilient devices on the market. It meets the IP68 dust and water resistance standard, something that has become standard on premium devices in recent years, but comes with an aluminum frame and rubber casing that conforms to the MIL 810G military standard that provides shock resistance and falls up to 2 meters high
The new Cat S61 is now available in the offer of the Romanian shops, starting at 899 euros
