Apple has released tvOS 11.3 Beta 2 for registered developers for testing on the fourth generation Apple TV and Apple TV 4K. We report what’s new.
tvOS 11.3 was developed for the fourth and fifth generation of the Apple TV and can now be installed in the beta version of paying developers on the small set-top box.
tvOS 11.3 offers support for AirPlay 2. The new iOS 11.3 beta also supports the new audio feature, even if it’s not fully functional, AirPlay 2 provides a multi-room audio experience, which means you can enjoy music or other audio content on your iPhone through multiple “Apple T Perfectly synchronize V “boxes in your home. When AirPlay 2 officially starts, this functionality extends to other AirPlay 2 devices, such as the HomePod and AirPlay 2-compatible speakers.
Apple has not only announced AirPlay 2 for the HomePod speaker, but Sonos’ audio experts will also submit an update for the Sonos One later this year.
Airplay 2 is also said to provide better audio buffering bring. Currently only a few seconds are buffered. With AirPlay 2 it should be several minutes, in order to make the streaming also with slower guidance much more reliable.
Further innovations in tvOS 11.3 are improvements with the automatic recognition of the picture repetition frequency with the Apple TV of the fourth generation. This was previously only available on the Apple TV 4K.
