ultra high quality monitor at all
BenQ produces under the Zowie brand some of the best performing gaming monitors on the market, being optimized especially for as little response time as possible. These are, however, made in a standard format with a 16: 9 aspect ratio and 24 to 27 "dimensions, these sizes being ideal for those who use them in competitive games. Of course, BenQ also offers products for those who prefer PC gaming as a relaxing activity, using the monitor for other activities such as watching movies or playing on consoles, where response time is less important, and image quality is top priority . For them, the Taiwanese company proposes the EX3501R, an ultrawide curved model, that wants to be the "good at all" solution
At first glance, I would not say that the BenQ's EX3501R is a gaming monitor. This seems to be rather a multimedia model, with a very stylish gray back and a metal chrome leg. Unlike other similar models on the market, it does not require any assembly, the monitor being factory-mounted on the support. For this reason, we do not have any VESA support, but BenQ sells separately an adapter for those who want to put the EX3501R on an adjustable stand or on a wall.
At a 35 "diagonal and with a VA panel, the 1800R curve is ideal as it provides a uniform image across the entire surface when viewed from the center. Generally, VA panels lose color intensity when viewed from an angle, and in the absence of curvature, the monitor would display erased colors on the sides. Unfortunately, the technology is not perfect, and on a completely white background, at the edges one can notice pink tints, something that is largely inevitable for such monitors.
The monitor support benefits from a generous vertical adjustment, like BenQ's gaming models, but it is not possible to orient the monitor in portrait mode. It can also be tilted a few degrees up or down (-5 to +20 degrees), but it is likely that many users will want to keep it right and adjust the seat height
At the connectivity chapter, the EX3501R features two HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, a USB 2.0 HUB with two ports for connecting accessories, headphones or PC drives, and even a USB Type-C connector can be used to transmit the video signal. Those who benefit from an ultra-slim laptop with Type-C connectors like a MacBook will certainly appreciate this capability.
Adjusting the settings is done using the seven buttons at the bottom. The first two are Power and Input, which have predefined functions and can not be configured, while the next five are menu navigation, and the top three can be set as shortcuts for some of the special functions (display modes, etc.)
The sensation the EX3501R leaves behind on a desk is the premium product, the sleek design and stunning dimensions instantly attract everyone's eyes into the room where it is mounted
