Visa applicants for the United States, required to provide the history of the last 5 years of activity in social networks
A seemingly inexhaustible source of user information, Facebook profiles may be required to be screened for all visa applicants for the United States, whether or not they have the status of immigrants.
Almost strictly, the US visa process could become even more complicated, with US authorities considering introducing the obligation to provide the addresses of all social network user accounts along with any email addresses and phone numbers used in the last 5 years
Until now, this type of verification was required only for certain persons considered at high risk for terrorist activities, such as those who have traveled to regions known to host such organizations. The only exceptions allowed could be for persons applying for a diplomatic passport.
Once voted, the new visa rules will be implemented within 60 days.
