The 2018 Football World Cup is about to begin. The main device on which matches are watched is the TV. No wonder that the prices of these products increased in Romania before the World Cup. According to the evoMAG online store, the average price for a TV went up to 1,800 lei, from 1,500 lei in 2017.
At the same time, the company estimates that TV sales will increase by more than 30% between May and July.
"Romania's passion for football is also seen in the retail electro-IT business. By the end of the World Cup, we expect to sell over 4,000 TVs on evoMAG, a plus of over 30% over last year. At the year-on-year level, we estimate a 20% increase in TV sales, generated by the Romanians' desire to watch this summer's football matches on more performing TVs, "said Mihai Pătraşcu, Executive Director of evoMAG
According to the retailer, the Romanians are interested, before the World Cup 2018, of televisions that fulfill all of the following conditions: they allow wireless internet connection, have Full HD or UHD resolution, a diagonal bigger than 80 cm, clear sound and powerful and promotional price.
The opening ceremony of the 2018 World Cup will be watched on June 14 at 17:30 (Romania).
