Xiaomi, Sony and 16 other manufacturers will deliver smartphones with 5G internet access over the next year

Qualcomm's preparations to move to the 5G communications standard went straight, the Snapdragon X50 modem series being taken over by no fewer than 18 OEMs. These include hardcore names such as Asus, Fujitsu, HMD Global, HTC, LG, Oppo, Sharp, Sony, vivo, Xiaomi and ZTE

Surely, 2019 will be the one with 5G internet access devices. But while Samsung seems to have secured access to Qualcomm's 5G technologies through a separate deal, not the same can be said about Apple's rival, the company missing from its Qualcomm partners list. However, this does not preclude Apple from having its own arrangement for the implementation of 5G communications technologies

Meanwhile, several mobile operators have announced the launch of 5G communications tests, and the first ultra-fast access to mobile internet services will be inaugurated early next year, with the launch of the new 5G smartphones.
